Taking Shape opens first store in Scotland

Taking Shape, the Australian plus size fashion retailer, has opened its first Scottish store in Aberdeen.

The company has taken a ten year lease on the former Austin Reed store at 253 Union Street.

Taking Shape managing director Alla Buinowicz said: “Our new Aberdeen store is our very first Taking Shape store in Scotland which is incredibly exciting for us. We believe that there is a great demand here for both our garments and commitment to providing a unique and caring shopping experience.”

FG Burnett acted on behalf of local investor Craigellen Assets in negotiating the lease. The firm’s director Richard Noble said: “This is another positive development in maintaining Union Street’s position as an important retailing location. It’s great to welcome a retailer of Taking Shape’s reputation to Aberdeen and it creates a feel-good factor on Union Street which has seen a significant improvement in occupancy levels in recent months.”
