Pakistan retailer adopts Kurt Salmon Associates' supply chain blueprint.

Saturday May 10th 2008

Service Sales Corporation is to upgrade its supply chain to better support its fast-growing business, adopting recommendations from a study carried out by Kurt Salmon Associates.

“The results of the last three years have given us a great deal of confidence in our ability to dominate the retailing sector in Paki stan. Our vision of becoming a 10 billion rupee company by 2010 and continuing to grow sales by 30% annually required us to rebuild our systems. Expanding into other retail formats as well as becoming a regional player meant transforming our supply chain, and we decided to engage KSA to help us achieve that goal,” says Omar Saeed, SSC's Chief Operating Officer.

The supply chain transformation will bring improved product offering into the stores, better product availability to the shelf and allow SSC to continue its rapid expansion across Pakistan with new stores and improved same-store sales growth.

“SSC is in a unique position to capitalise on Pakistan's extraordinary growth and the strength of its brands to rapidly expand its already market-leading position,” says KSA managing director Richard Traish. “With this supply chain transformation SSC will lead Pakistan in advanced retail practices.”
