New space planning software for Delhaize Belgium

Archived article dated Thursday May 28th 2009

European food retailers Delhaize Belgium has selected Apollo Designer Workstation, an item of space planning software from Aldata Solution, to improve customer satisfaction and inventory control in its stores.

“Ensuring that we have the right products in the right place at the right time is critical to the success of our brands,” says Delhaize supply chain vice president Tanguy t'Serstevens. The system will automate the production of planograms, enabling better category management and smoother product launches. It will also reduce out of stocks and flag up slow-moving ranges for replacement.

Delahaize Belgium has 775 stores trading under various formats, with a 25.1 per cent share of the Belgian grocery market.
