New Look signs up to Friars Walk

New Look has become the latest fashion retailer to sign up to the new Friars Walk development in Newport.

The 10,000 sq ft store will open when the shopping centre launches in autumn 2015.

Construction work on Friars Walk began earlier this year and New Look will join retailers and leisure operators such as Debenhams, Next, Topshop and Cineworld, as well restaurant chains Nandos, Frankie & Benny’s and Prezzo.

Developed by Queensberry Real Estate, the shopping centre will include 35 retail units, 10 restaurants, 360 parking spaces and a major new bus station and interchange.

Stuart Harris, commercial director and co-founder at Queensberry, said: “New Look are one of the leading fast fashion retailers and are a great addition to our line up at Friars Walk. We have deals agreed with several other high profile retailers which we will announce over the course of the next few months.”

On completion the scheme will create an estimated 1,200 jobs.
