Moss Bros appoints finance director and chief operating officer
Men's formalwear retailer Moss Bros has appointed Charles Tyrwhitt finance director Tony Bennett as its new group finance director.
Due to join the business in August, Bennett will take over the role from Robin Piggott who announced his intention to retire in September 2015.
Bennett has worked with multi-channel menswear retailer Charles Tyrwhitt since 2009. Prior to that, he was the head of commercial finance at Selfridges Retail and before that chief financial officer at Confetti Network.
Piggott will step down from the Moss Bros board at the company's annual general meeting in May although he will continue to work with the business until Bennett joins.
Moss Bros has also appointed Paula Minowa as chief operating officer. She will join the company on 1 March and will become a member of the executive committee, reporting to chief executive Brian Brick.
In the newly created role, Minowa will have accountability for the customer journey across all channels and across all territories.
Previously chief executive of German lifestyle retailer Strauss Innovation, Minowa’s prior roles also include managing director at Ann Summers, brand and communications director at ASDA and managing director for Boots Retail Taiwan.
Brick said: "Tony and Paula join us at a time where we have considerable opportunity to leverage the Moss Bros brand further in new channels and new territories.
"I believe that their combined experience will allow them to make an immediate contribution. I am personally very excited about leading the business through this next phase of growth and am looking forward very much to working with them both."
