Matalan launches recruitment drive

Retailer seeks 1,500 temporary staff for Christmas and 300 permanent employees for new stores.

Matalan said the new stores, Cheetham Hill,
Elgin in Morayshire and Colindale in North London, were the first of a major expansion programme involving up to 100 additional stores over the next few years.

Retail director Amin Kassam said: "Customers are continuing to respond well to our strategy and we are delighted to be able to create jobs."
