Manchester Fort names new manager

Manchester Fort Shopping Park has appointed a new centre manager.

Having previously worked with Crownpoint North Shopping Park, Derek Askew has now taken the reins at the retail park at Cheetham Hill on the outskirts of Manchester.

He said: “Manchester Fort is renowned for its high quality shopping offering just outside of Manchester city centre.

“We are ambitious in our plans over the coming months to ensure that Manchester Fort remains a favourite amongst locals and continues to expand on its success. We have plenty of activity planned for the course of 2016 to give the community plenty of reasons to visit Manchester Fort.”

A number of events are in the pipeline for the coming months including a summer fashion show, a ‘Back to School’ promotional event and the introduction of one of the first quiet hour shopping park schemes in the country.

The shopping park said it has continued to see increased levels of footfall over the last few months and expects to have 100% occupancy levels in the coming weeks.

Askew added: “Stores like B&Q and Mothercare are extremely popular with people that visit the shopping park and I’m looking forward to working closely with the store managers so that we can find ways to benefit the shopping park even more.”
