Letting agent appointed for North Road
Stonewall Properties has appointed the North West office of commercial property specialist CB Richard Ellis to let sites at the North Road Retail Park in Preston.
North Road is an established out of town shopping destination, with B&Q, Bathstore and American Golf stores nearby a
s well as bed retailer Dreams already trading from unit 1. The prominent site is half a mile from Preston city centre and within three miles of the M6, M55 and M65.CB Richard Ellis retail team surveyor Pippa Page says: “Out of town locations are becoming more popular with retailers, particularly since the onset of the recession that has caused many of the country's smaller high streets to lose some of their appeal, both in terms of empty units and less shoppers looking to spend money.
“We expect that North Road will prove an appealing trading location for retailers looking to benefit from competitive rents. Fashion and food stores, such as Next and Tesco, are increasingly opting to trade from retail parks as consumers become more reluctant to drive into town centres, preferring to stay local and save on parking fees.”
