Land of Beds holds staff sleepover

Cheshire based bed retailer Land of Beds held a staff sleepover event last month to give its store staff first-hand experience of what it feels like to sleep on its range of beds and mattresses.

Owner Mike Murray said: “After proving so successful with staff last year, we have decided to run it again. It makes perfect sense, if you work in a car garage, the staff are encouraged to road test the vehicles. It’s the same in restaurants, all chefs try their own dishes before serving them to customers and we’re just doing the same.”

Staff members also had the opportunity to talk shop in a relaxed environment while enjoying some food and drink. The football fans amongst them even got to watch some World Cup matches while trying out beds with 40 inch plasma screen TVs built into the frame.

Murray added: “Even though it seems like a bit of fun, it’s actually a good training exercise. It’s also great team building exercise as it’s not often our staff get to share the same bedroom with eight of their colleagues.”
