Kurt Geiger to debut at Intu Watford

Luxury footwear brand Kurt Geiger is to open a new 2,600 square foot store at the Intu Watford shopping centre.

Due to open this autumn, the store will be situated on the lower mall close to John Lewis, Office and Thomas Sabo.

Neil Clifford, Kurt Geiger chief executive, said: “We believe our brand will perform well at Intu Watford and look forward to the exciting development plans that will further strengthen the centre’s appeal.”

Intu Watford welcomes 17 million customers each year and says its growing mix of aspirational brands will benefit from the high number of customers who fall within the ABC1 socio-economic categories.

Rebecca Ryman, regional director of Intu, said: “Kurt Geiger really complements the existing tenant mix at Intu Watford and is an ideal addition for its high end shopper profile. We are redeveloping Intu Watford to deliver compelling shopping experiences for our customers through our range of quality retail brands and a  diverse mix of dining and leisure options.”

Work will begin later this year on a project to integrate the Intu Watford and Charter Place shopping centres to create a single 1.4 million square foot retail, dining and leisure destination. The £100 million investment by Intu will provide new retail space, a Cineworld imax cinema and leisure complex, as well as a new restaurant hub and public square.
