K3 confirms Microsoft Dynamics leadership with expanded retail practice
K3 Retail has confirmed its leadership in retail by expanding its Dynamics AX practice and joining Microsoft as a launch partner for their latest industry solution; Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail.
K3 Retail celebrated the announcement with the first UK win for Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail, at Buy as You View, the UK’s leading supplier of consumer retail goods sold on credit basis.
The Dynamics AX solution provides retailers with integrated, adaptable business management solutions to help them make decisions with greater confidence, streamline their business processes and offer customers a more connected experience across every channel.
“K3 Retail is a trusted retail industry partner for Microsoft and has more than 18 years experience in delivering solutions to international mid market retailers,” said Michael Griffiths, group product manager, retail at Microsoft. “As a Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail launch partner, their expertise in retail implementations and Microsoft platforms is a welcome contribution to our strategy of delivering connected retail experiences, and of great benefit to our mutual customers.
Critically, Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail includes intellectual property that Microsoft acquired from LS Retail EHF towards the end of 2009. K3 Retail is a key partner of LS Retail and together they have worked closely to develop and deliver retail solutions to the UK, Irish and International markets. With its experience with the LS Retail software and the Dynamics platforms, K3 is in a unique position to advise customers on the most appropriate platform for their individual retail environment.
Colin Bain, K3 Managing Director, said, “Our market advantage in Microsoft Dynamics AX is clear – as an existing provider of solutions to the mid market and 10 year partner of LS Retail, we can give retailers the broadest and deepest set of solutions based on Microsoft technology.”
The connected system in Dynamics AX for Retail will allow a retailer to better understand customer behaviour and then use it to optimise the whole chain of operations – from sales to supply and distribution. The solution will support point-of-sale, store management, merchandising, and corporate ERP business processes, and guarantees both improved productivity and lower management costs.
Of particular relevance to retailers, Microsoft Dynamics AX supports connectivity with customers, vendors, business partners and employees, to drive supply chain efficiency, supplier collaboration and store staff productivity.
The tight integration to Microsoft Office is a highlight that has been consistently praised by customers, enabling users to work in an environment that they are very familiar with, including Windows 7, Office, SharePoint Server and SQL Server. This approach also cuts training times and costs.
