Homebase appoints new HR director
DIY retailer Homebase has appointed John Shaw as HR director.
Reporting jointly to Homebase managing director Paul Loft and Home Retail Group HR director Julie Elder, Shaw has also joined the Homebase executive board.
Prior to Homebase, Shaw worked in a diverse range of sectors and led people programmes at director level at the Post Office, Whitbread, Centrica, AOL and DST Global Solutions.
Loft said: “We are delighted that John has joined us at this time. We have 19,000 great colleagues, who are critical to our success and his role will be crucial to engage, nurture and develop teams at all levels across the business to help to deliver our renewal plans effectively and successfully.
“Drawing on his extensive experience, he is already making a difference and developing long term plans to build on the early success of programmes such as Liberation, which is enabling store colleagues to spend more time with customers.”
