Henderson Group improves communications with help from Vodat International

Archived article dated Sunday July 5th 2009

Henderson Group, the owner of the Spar, Eurospar, Vivo and Vivoxtra franchises in Northern Ireland, has selected Vodat International to introduce a new network infrastructure to improve communications between stores and head office and meet PCI:DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) standards.

The group, which distributes food and grocery related products to the convenience retail sector, needed a network to support EFT, Paypoint & e-Topup transactions. The network will also support connectivity for Henderson's managed email and Internet services with firewall and anti-virus protection and boost inter-site connectivity between stores, allowing remote access via secure VPN for the store owners. Andrew Logan, IT Director at the Henderson Group, said, “We wanted to improve communications between our stores and head office environment to improve efficiency in areas such as stock replenishment. We also required technology that complied with the PCI DSS standards and Vodat helped us reach this goal.”

Logan continued, “We are able to add additional services onto our network infrastructure which is appealing to the business. Vodat has a proven track record and we wanted a partner who had a vision for the future.”

Mike Bielinski, CEO at Vodat International, said, “Henderson Group required a network that could support the business as it embarks on a period of growth. By using our network the business will be able to add on additional functions including CCTV viewing and footage retrieval, radio/music and VoIP/IPT within all stores.”
