Halfords names new chief financial officer

Car parts and cycle retailer Halfords has appointed Loraine Woodhouse as its new chief financial officer.

Due to join the business on 1 November, Woodhouse has been working as the finance director of Waitrose since 2015. Prior to that, she held senior finance roles at the John Lewis Partnership including acting group finance director.

Other previous positions include chief financial officer of Hobbs, finance director of Capital Shopping Centres (now known as Intu) and finance director of Costa Coffee. Early in her career, she also held finance and investor relations roles at B&Q owner Kingfisher.

In her new position, Woodhouse will succeed Jonny Mason who, as previously announced, is leaving Halfords at the end of this month.

Graham Stapleton, Halfords chief executive, said: “I am delighted that Loraine will be joining Halfords as CFO and look forward to working with her. She has extensive finance leadership within service-based retail and will be a great addition to the senior team. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jonny Mason and to wish him every success in the future.”

Woodhouse is currently a partner trustee of the John Lewis Partnership Trust for Pensions, but will relinquish the role prior to joining Halfords.
