Futura announces first module of new java-based solution at Retail Solutions

Futura UK announces at Retail Solutions 2008, Stand No E18, the first module of its new java-based retail management system, designed to improve the customer experience.

This point of sale product will have security imaging, camera ID/Camera recognition and biometric controls to improve security and can be used for mobile, RFID and contactless customer cards transactions.

Called “Futura 4 Retail,” this flexible, state of the art POS solution is intuitive and easy to learn. It comes in any local language, including Chinese, due to its Unicode capability, making POS available in Russian, Arabic, Japanese to meet global retailers' expansion needs. This was particularly interesting to Chinese and Russian companies previewing the product at the leading industry exhibition, EuroShop in Düsseldorf.

The new system, which will be demonstrated for the first time in the UK at Retail Solutions, will bring considerable IT cost savings. Since it is java-based and operating system independent, Futura will be able to reduce the licensing requirement on a massive scale for its retailers.

Futura4retail, which will be shipping in Q4, will be compatible with the existing Futura solution and so will capture customer data at the till for CRM and sales analysis purposes. It maintains all of the functions and features so is easy to migrate from its predecessor, while enjoying the benefits from the new communications features.
