Footfall up at Lowry Outlet Mall

Archived article dated Tuesday May 19th 2009

The Lowry Outlet Mall at Salford Quays in Manchester played host to 4m visitors over the last financial year, marking a 5% increase in overall footfall. The centre has also achieved a rise of 3.1% in like-for-like sales.

“We have strived to deliver great savings in times where the consumer is wanting greater value for money, typically we are up to 60% cheaper than the high street,” says Centre manager Robert Hallworth. “Increased sales have been most prominent in the homeswares, gifts and fashion sectors, as we believe the consumer is once again starting to spend money on themselves and their homes.”

The Mall is preparing for further development and growth in the surrounding area with the opening of mediacity:uk in 2011. This will bring 30,000 new workers and residents to the district.
