eSalon launches in UK

eSalon, the US online retailer specialising in custom hair colour, has launched in the UK with both a local website and customer service team.

The company has also announced plans to expand into Canada and the EU.

Within the EU, eSalon will ship directly to Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden, with customer service centralized through the new eSalon London office.

Since the company’s launch in 2010, eSalon has produced more than 80,000 unique hair color formulations and has shipped over 1 million colour applications. It has over 100,000 active customers, 85% of which receive their colour products via a recurring subscription.

Francisco Gimenez, eSalon’s co-founder and chief executive, said: “Until now, a woman’s only option was to spend a significant sum in a salon, or try to choose from endless aisles of one-size-fits-all boxed colours. We’ve turned the colour market on its head, by delivering custom formulated salon-quality colour for less than they would tip a colourist. We are excited about our continued success, confirmation of our vision and expansion overseas.”
