ePRICE to deploy automated recommendations from ATG

Thursday July 9th 2009

ePRICE in Italy will be deploying automated recommendations on their site, using ATG Recommendations.

The ATG solution will enable ePRICE to offer a better, personalised experience to their customers by automatically suggesting the most relevant products for each Web site visitor. ATG Recommendations will automatically learn about ePRICE's catalog, its website, the behavior of each shopper, and the collective behavior of shoppers to predict each shopper's intent in each visit and automatically adjust which products are presented.

ePRICE will also use ATG Recommendations in its email campaigns. When ePRICE customers receive emails - either transactional emails or marketing campaigns - a selected area of each email will include personalised recommendations specific for that individual, based on their previous shopping behaviour and ePRICE's merchandising rules.

“We pride ourselves on a vast range of products. With over 200,000 high technology products in stock, being able to present the relevant ones to each Web site visitor or, indeed, to our email recipients, is paramount to increase their satisfaction and loyalty; our customers appreciate that they don't receive spam from ePRICE,” said Edoardo Giorgetti, Head of eCommerce at Banzai, ePRICE's parent company. “The solution adjusts the recommendations automatically, and we can decide easily and flexibly when to override any of the selections. This provides an extremely efficient way of potentially showcasing all our stock - but only to the relevant buyer at the right time.”
