Archived article dated Wednesday August 20th 2008
Eight more fashion retailers and three catering operators have signed up to Cabot Circus, the £500 million Bristol city centre scheme being developed by Bristol Alliance partners Land Securities and Hammerson.
Fashion newcomers include Gerry Weber, Guess Jeans, Principles and TM Lewin which will all be opening in the main part of the scheme, while Crew and Guess Accessories will be opening in Quakers Friars, the scheme's focus for designer and luxury brands anchored by Harvey Nichols. All six will be opening in Bristol's city centre for the first time. Other new lettings include those to La Senza, Oasis and Nationwide. Char-grilled cuisine operator Coal Grill & Bar, 1950's-styled Italian American restaurant Frankie & Benny's, and milkshake bar Shakeabout, are all to open within The Restaurant Terrace, the focus for family eating and dining on the scheme's car park level adjacent to the new Showcase Cinema De Lux. Keith Stone, Bristol Alliance Leasing Director, commented: “We have had a terrific last couple of months with the quality of fashion brands signing up to Cabot Circus exceeding our expectations, and we are expecting over 100 retailers to be open from day one. The retail sector has really bought into the significant potential of Bristol's prosperous regional catchment as well as the high quality of the streets and squares being created in this superb development - which has been extended to Broadmead through an extensive upgrade.”Joint letting agents for the scheme are DTZ and Lunson Mitchenall.
