Electrical goods retailers to reap the benefits of unique new price comparison service

Archived article dated Friday November 14th 2008

GotYourPriceCheck is the UK's first ever local SMS price comparison service, launching in mid December this year.

Unlike other price comparison services, it offers shoppers the quickest, easiest way to find 'real time' bargains in any given location, and electrical retailers the opportunity to get their best prices directly into the hands of potential customers, via their mobile phone, to drive sales and boost their profits.

The service is completely free for retailers to sign up to, and provides both small independent retailers and larger electrical retail chains with a unique way of monitoring their local market, reaching new audiences and ensuring their prices remain as competitive as possible.

GotYourPriceCheck founder, Harmeet Baxi, says, “More than ever, in the current economic climate, shoppers are looking for bargains and retailers are looking for fresh ways to promote their best prices and get customers in store. Retailers who sign up to GotYourPriceCheck will immediately begin to reap the benefits, and with many of their closest competitors coming on board, they can't afford to miss out.”

The service is quick and easy to use. Shoppers simply text the word 'price', plus the make and model of the item they want, along with a location, to 60706. Within 60 seconds they will receive an SMS response, containing two local stores with the cheapest retail prices, plus the best web price. Shoppers pay 35p plus standard network charges for successful search results.

The service will initially launch in the South East (within the M25), with a nationwide roll out planned for early 2009.
