There is no doubt that trading is difficult, with many consumers tightening their belts and counting every penny they spend. However the Convenience Retailing Shows aim for 2009 is to help retailers with business advice to see them through the credit crunch.

CRS is the event for the convenience sector, with the biggest gathering of retailers and suppliers in the convenience industry. CRS is the place to meet all suppliers in the convenience industry, from symbol groups to sandwich and snack suppliers. From refrigeration companies to greetings card companies.

If you are a convenience store, CTN, supermarket, symbol group, independent retailer, cash & carry, wholesaler, multiple, off licence, coffee bar, sandwich shop, forecourt retailer, you need to be at CRS.

Close to 200 exhibitors will be at the show, which will take place at the Birmingham NEC from March 1-3, 2009. Typically these exhibitors offer some great show deals but for 2009 organiser William Reed Business Media has made them much more accessible via a voucher booklet. Visitors to CRS will each be given a booklet which will entitle them to exclusive show offers – there will be money-off and special deals, all invaluable in a competitive trading environment.

In addition, there is a new live event designed to arm retailers with information to help make them more profitable. Called ‘Take More, Make More’, it comprises a comprehensive timetable of workshops to help retailers take more money, and make more profit.

Event director Matthew Butler comments: “We realise that retailers need a better reason than ever to leave their stores during these tough trading times, which is why we have introduced Take More, Make More. It will include experts giving tips on how retailers can improve their business.”
