Canary Wharf Appoints The Communication Group

Thursday September 9th 2010

Canary Wharf Group plc (CWG) has appointed The Communication Group plc as its first retained consumer public relations consultancy.

The Communication Group will help to promote the thriving retail and entertainment offering across this iconic London destination.

Canary Wharf offers the ultimate combination of shopping, entertainment and business. It currently has over 200 fully-let shops, bars, cafes and restaurants including a number of the world’s leading brands such as ROKA, Zara, Waitrose Food and Home, Jamie’s Italian, Myla, Reiss and Hugo Boss. Upcoming openings include Tiffany & Co, Aquascutum and the London flagship of renowned restaurant Boisdale with plans for the ‘greatest whisky bar on the planet’, complete with cigar terrace and jazz venue. A dynamic calendar of events and exhibitions is also in place, in addition to an award-winning collection of modern art.

The Communication Group represents a number of leading destination clients, including Mayfair and Belgravia for Grosvenor’s London estate, Dubai and the Burlington Arcade.

The team will be headed up by Caroline Parrish, a Director of the consultancy’s Marketing Communication Practice.

Camille Waxer, Vice President of Retail at CWG comments, “Canary Wharf is famous as one of the world’s premier business districts, but there is a buzzing world beneath and between the office towers too. We’ve had seven new bars and restaurants and several of the world’s leading retail brands open to critical acclaim in the last 12 months, and much more on the way. We are very excited to have The Communication Group as part of the team to help communicate these developments to Londoners and beyond.”
