Buy British Day to be held on 3 October

The second annual Buy British Day will be taking place on Saturday 3 October with mini Best of Britannia pop-up retail events being held in London and Preston.

The day, which encourages consumers to support brands and businesses that design and manufacture in Britain, will showcase more than 200 British-made brands and products through the events and a newly launched website.

An initiative from Best of Britannia, this year’s event is partnering with Made In Britain.

The London pop-up will be situated in Kings Cross as part of Wayne Hemingway’s The Classic Car Boot Sale in Granary Square while the Preston event will include a pop-up retail outlet in the middle of the Fishergate shopping centre and on the Preston train station concourse.

The Granary Square pop-up will feature luxury British menswear label Ross Barr, Joseph Corré’s A Child of the Jago, Alice Robson Jewellery, silk accessories designer Geoff Stocker, Pinkster gin, Faust’s Potions, designer Victoria Eggs, tailor Susannah Hall, Dhu Performance Cashmere, jeweller Claire English, The Shackleton Design & Manufacturing Company, and bespoke headphone-maker Angle & Curve.

The Preston pop-up will include tartan designer Alison O’Neill’s The Shepherdess, master leather craftsmen The Leather Satchel Co. and ‘free from’ chocolate specialist Ayni Chocolate, as well as others to be announced.
