Booths enjoys strong growth in home delivery orders

Booths, the Northwest based food and drink retailer, has seen its Christmas home delivery orders rise by 54% and overall orders, including click and collect, increase by 11% this year.

Average order values are up 14% with the average basket spend rising to £82.75. For home delivery orders average spend has risen to a record £122 for the retailer.

While deliveries are scheduled nationwide, Booths has seen a sharp rise in demand for home delivery in London and the South of England this year. Home delivery orders have also been particularly strong in Scotland and the Northeast.

Booths chief executive Chris Dee said: “The Northern secret is out. The rise in demand nationwide for a Booths Christmas is particularly gratifying, confirming that Booths is a trusted brand with significant appeal outside our region. Quality is core to the Booths offer, and we have the advantage and privilege to work with the best farmers and food producers in the country.”

Booths said its “Great Northern Christmas” book has contributed to the appeal of the Booths offering. Bestselling products include easy to cook turkey joints, bread sauce, dressed lobster and ready prepared dauphinoise potatoes. Goose fat sales have climbed by 458%.

Dee added: “For most families, Christmas dinner is the most important meal of the year and it’s heart-warming that they trust Booths to deliver this. People come to Booths for the best; they have confidence in our quality, service and commitment to find the very best suppliers producing exceptional food.”
