ASDA launches aggressive Christmas price campaign
Wednesday November 26th 2008
A thousand new rollbacks will hit stores from today, adding to more than 4000 price cuts previously announced in November.
The retailer also confirmed it will be passing on the full VAT saving from Monday on its individual p
rices in store ensuring customers benefit from the Chancellor's announcement to reduce VAT from 17.5% to 15%. ASDA's President and CEO, Andy Bond, said: "Our core purpose is to make goods and services more affordable. In the run up to Christmas and month end, when household budgets are under greater pressure than ever, we know how important it is to save our customers money. That's why we have launched our most aggressive Christmas price campaign ever. "We already have the UK's lowest prices across our entire store whether it's customer favourites like selection boxes and mince pies, Christmas gifts like mobile phones and digital cameras, or larger items like games consoles and laptops.'
