Aldi launches own budget tablet device

Aldi is following in the footsteps of Tesco and Argos with the launch of its own budget tablet computer.

The discounter will begin selling the £79 Medion Lifetab E7316 device from 8 December, although stocks will be limited.

The seven-inch tablet features 8GB of storage and a screen resolution of 1024×600. It is 11mm thick, weighs 301g and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU. The battery life will be four hours. The Lifetab also has front and rear facing cameras.

In September, Tesco launched its seven-inch Hudl tablet for £119 while Argos launched its £100 MyTablet device in October.
